Hierarchy of the Successfully Self-Employed
The psychologist Maslow developed a hierarchy of human needs. The article linked below shows that the self-employed also have a similar hierarchy of success.
The levels are:
- Freelancer (physiological needs)
- Contractor (safety and social needs)
- Expert (esteem needs)
- Guru (self-actualization)
The important thing is to consciously know where you are, and have a clear picture of what you want. Success From the Nest covers each of the four levels, discussing how, and why you’d want to, move up the hierarchy of the self-employed.
